
It would be a shame to miss all this beauty!

Built in 1993, this five story, 50,000 square foot addition is the only theatre in the Southwest modeled after the great classical thrust stages – incorporating elements found in the Festival Theatre at Stratford, the Tyrone Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis and the Chichester Festival Theatre in England., a modified horseshoe – shaped design. The theater seats 386. The facility also houses the University’s film and video archives in a climate controlled storage screening rooms and office space for University’s Southwest Film/Video Archives. The new wing is linked with the Hamon Arts Library. They are designed as twin buildings with a combination of historical design and state of the art theatrical technology. The combination of the two buildings features tall narrow windows, simple pilasters and a curving balcony on the third floor. The façade is embellished by a formal courtyard, with trees, benches and a large fountain.

Welcome to the McFarlin Memorial Auditorium. McFarlin Auditorium is the site for many University events such as commencement, graduation, the renowned Willis M. Tate Lecture Series, and other student programs. McFarlin is also used to showcase international dance companies, famous vocalists, and nationally celebrated bands. Known as one of the jewels among the Southern Methodist University campus, the auditorium is evolving to become one of the most unique medium-sized venues in the region.

Now that I've previewed the weekend in my own head and here on my blog too, the answer is clear, somethings remain the same and once planted in your brain and alive in your heart too, they will always remain true. While I'm excited about all of the above and more proud of the Precious Princess then words can tell . . . it's truly all about the one that will forever remain in my
