In the beginning . . .

It began around noon on April 15, 1979! A Sunday surrounded by a loving family waiting for the arrival of a wonderful gift. My brother and sister-in-law had come from California just to be here for that special day, but just like in the days to come, this special gift was going to arrive on her own terms (she was 2-1/2 weeks late). Around noon the contractions began, Uncle Perkins gleefully took on the job of time keeper. 22 hours later, a beautiful baby girl arrived and she hasn't been late anywhere for anything since! Tomorrow, The Princess celebrates our birthday, the day she was born and the day that I gave birth, and a glorious day it was. Evidently, in Dallas the celebration has already begun. It's a true gift to know that your child is loved so much by those she has chosen to share her life with!!!
